Wash complexion brushes and sponges weekly with a dedicated brush cleanser, reshape and dry flat. Eye brushes can be cleaned every two weeks with light use. Professionals working on multiple clients should clean between every client without exception.
Observe the period-after-opening symbol printed on each product. As a general guide: mascara three to six months, liquid foundation six to twelve months, powders up to two years, lipstick around eighteen months. Discard anything that changes smell, colour or texture.
Mascara and lip products should never be shared. In a salon or studio setting, decant with a clean spatula or use disposable applicators.
If you have sensitive or reactive skin, patch test new complexion and eye products and choose fragrance-free formulas where possible. Cosmetics that cause persistent irritation should be discontinued; if irritation continues, speak to a pharmacist.
